Back Again

Suddenly a loud crash sound is heard and a series of feline screeches. "Back you darn things! Back! I am NOT a giant mouse!!" Kairi ran out from a small alley, turned around and waved a stick at the wild cats as they hissed at her and retreated. "Thats right!! You go back in that gosh dang alley!!" Kairi let out a sigh of relief and walked up to the girl. "You know, I couldn't help but overhearing while fighting for my life against starved cats, but I think you might be mistaken. If I heard you correctly, you said something about being in Twilight Town? This is actually Traverse Town." Kairi smiled at her. "I'm Kairi by the way."

Kairi smiled at her. "Axis huh? You know, that name sounds just a little bit familiar." She studied her thoroughly. "You look familiar too. Almost like someone I know, or once knew at least.... I wonder if..." She stopped in the middle of her sentence as her eyes suddenly narrowed and darkened slightly. She stood almost in a trance for a moment, but quickly broke out of it and shook her head. "Sorry about that. It's really nice to meet you Axis."

I stepped into the cafe without noticing Kairi or Axis and ordered a coke. I laid back and relaxed. I closed my eyes and it felt like the world was lighter.

I dozed off and had a nightmare. Mundus was controlling me again, and I killed everyone I knew. I woke up startled and looked around. I took a quick drink of my coke and leaned back in my chair again.

I scramble forward and almost spilt my coke. "What? a demon can't get any rest?" I asked as I caught my coke.

I grunted. "your not human are you?" I asked her plainly.

"it seems we are on the same road." I chuckled as grabbed Oni from beside the chair. "if that is true we will meet again. if you have any demon trouble just call me." I said walking toward the door. then I noticed Kairi. "I'll see you later too Kairi." I said walking out the door.

Axis smirked again turning to face the man....

"Have you been watching me or following me...You seem to have some intrest on me...."

"I appear wherever I wish. you just happen to be where I have been twice." I chuckled. "If you want me to disappear for a long time. you'll know what to do." I said putting my thumb under the hand gaurd of Oni.

I grunted. "that woman, all she need to do was ask." I said to myself. "if she was a man I would have fought her right here." I chuckled then turned and walked off.

Kairi looked around very confused, wondering what just happened. "Ummmm..... That was weird..." She suddenly realized that she was now alone. "Hey!!! You know, it isn't very nice to totally ditch people even if you do say bye!"

"my apologies, I didn't know you were there." I said to Kairi as I reentered the cafe. I sat down and ordered another coke and sat Oni down by the chair.

Kairi pretended to be angry with him but then smiled. "Hey Vergil." She looked at the new coke that he ordered as well as the one before it. "What is it with you and that darn soda?" She laughed a little and then pulled up a chair next to him. "So, what's been up with you lately? And what's going on between you and Axis?"

I smiled at Kairi's question. "I'm simply enjoying a drink I wasn't allowed to have for twenty years. As for Axis... I don't know." I said simply.

Kairi nodded. "She seems very familiar to me, in an unnerving sort of way." She shrugged and smiled a little. "I mean, she's nice and doesn't look too dangerous or anything. She just reminds me of someone, but I'm not sure who..." Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Whoever it is, it obviously wasn't someone I very much liked."

I nodded and finished my drink. "must have been someone unimportant." I said as I sat the empty cup on the table. "or... someone has tampered with your memories..." I said as I felt a chill rise up my neck.

I chuckled. "you too?" I said with a slight smile. "at least you didn't try to kill anyone under the control of a demon." I said.
